Active Listening

Active Listening Services

We’ve developed a new Active Listening service for those with PTSD, Stress and Trauma. We recognise that fear, loneliness, avoidance, anxiety; symptoms of PTSD, stress and trauma can make you retract into your shell, stealing your personality and making you feel numb inside.

I know from experience it’s easier to pull the duvet over your head, easier to keep the curtains shut, easier to avoid those who love you, turning your phone off, not replying to texts and calls.

But, there will be some point, again I know, that you will want to re-engage, to build your confidence back up, to rebuild your life; that’s why we have developed our Active Listening Service.

crisis intervention

On board we have people like you who have lived experience of PTSD, Stress and Trauma who have completed CPCAB – Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body courses to Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies (CST-L3) and are on the way to completing training to become counsellors.

Our team have been trained to create for you a safe space, either face to face, on the phone or via the internet, based on the core conditions of congruence, unconditional positive regard (accepting you for who you are, without prejudice or discrimination) and empathy.

Our team can talk to you once or twice a week, by appointment, and help you regain your confidence and help you get some perspective on things, Maybe you simply want to offload to someone who has their own experiences of PTSD.

Do not underestimate the power of being listened to, it set me off on my pathway to recovery, and hopefully it can help you too.

Take action now to get yourself back to where you deserve to be.
