Matt Shepley – Founder

About Matt

Matt founded Sole Survivor after witnessing first-hand the challenges faced by people in his community. What began as a small support group in 2018 has since grown into a wider mission to provide trauma-informed care and practical support.

Having overcome Complex PTSD, and later being diagnosed with ADHD and Dyspraxia, Matt brings lived experience that deepens his understanding of how trauma and neurodiversity overlap and affect lives.

Matt brings nearly a decade of community-based frontline experience to his work. He has facilitated over 1,000 hours of PTSD peer support groups, delivered more than 500 hours of Post-Traumatic Growth and Neurodiversity coaching, and holds trauma therapy qualifications that underpin his daily practice.

He collaborates with ADHD UK and holds enhanced clearance with HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) to deliver coaching on their Neurodiversity Programme, helping to shift mindsets, save lives, change behaviours, reduce breaches, and keep families together.
